The Judging Process

The Motor Trader Independent Dealer Awards has a rigorous judging process with a panel made up of industry figures, who review entries from Retail and Supplier Categories to determine outright winners and highly commended candidates.
Judges are chosen for their independence, impartiality, experience and expertise in motor retailing.

Simply click the boxes below to view the judging process for both category groups!

Entrants are asked to submit responses to entry questions, and include a range of supporting material that should be tailored to the criteria for each category.

Judges will review each entry, scoring every nomination on their own, individual merit against the category criteria.

Our judging panel will then meet to discuss their findings and scores, awarding the winners and, where appropriate, the highly commended entries for 2024!

Previously, the panel used a Dragons’ Den style model where suppliers presented.

It now takes the form of a written submission.

All suppliers need to do is tell us in no more than 750 words what product/s or service/s they have introduced that have boosted the bottom lines of independent dealers, and helped to improve processes and efficiencies.

Suppliers can also provide a range of supporting material tailored to the criteria.
Judges will review each written submission with any supporting material, and judge them against the category criteria, scoring them on their individual merit.

The judging panel will then meet to discuss their findings and scores, and decide the outright winner and, where appropriate, the highly commended candidates!
